The Orchard at Hilltop is a 113 unit affordable housing project, located on a unique site that was previously an orchard and is situated on a busy neighborhood boulevard adjacent to the 94 freeway.  The site’s history and location were the inspiration for the design concepts — a juxtaposition of organic materials expressed through greenery and natural wood tones meets an urban scene characterized by graffiti artwork, decorative metal work with pops of color and urban inspired fixtures.  Vintage artwork from orchard crates lines the common area hallway for a fun nod to the history of the site.  Shogugiban wood siding adds a modern twist to the organic palette.  The space’s unique blend of artistic details are intended to inspire creativity to its residents.
